Many people do not know where to start, but I can help you with everything from finding webhosting, domain setup, website setup (either from scratch or using a pre-made package like Wordpress or Drupal) all the way to accepting credit cards and managing maillists. Technical blah, blah, blah:

Website Hosting - If you are looking to get a website setup, I can consult with you and make sure you have a plan in order for ensuring a reliable web presence. You cannot just publish your page and walk away. Its important to make sure you have layers of security between the public and your website. You need to also have a plan in order in the event your site is defaced by a hacker. Many people overlook a backup plan because they assume their site is not that important, this is something that should not be overlooked.

Web Site Design - If you need someone to help with creating the website of your dreams and you just can't find a package out there that will accomplish this goal, you may be in need of a developer. I've been in a unique position over the years of being tasked with creating applications that accomplish certain tasks such as data management or workflow administration. As such, I have a great deal of experience with HTML, PHP, Ruby on Rails, CSS and Javascript. Combining these tools with storing information in a database pretty much makes anything you can dream up a reality.

Web Applications - The popularity of pre-packaged open source (free) applications has exploded over the last decade; most notably, Wordpress. This application has thousands of people writing modules that extend its functionality. This is great for a turnkey solution, but you need someone to help guide you along the way to know what modules are safe and which ones help your site versus cause problems. Wordpress is also not the right fit for everyone, its more of a "general" solution, if you need a a certain functionality that wordpress doesnt support out of the box, you might find yourself in need of something else, such as Drupal. Drupal is a content management web application that is highly customizable. It's a bit more work up front to setup, but it can change save you in the long run because you won't run into roadblock like you will with Wordpress. Also, if your site is more focused on education, Moodle might be the answer for you. Moodle is another web application that is free, but its designed for education, training, and certification.

Security - Any site that uses credit cards is subject to Payment Card Industry (PCI) security measured. If your site gets hacked, and your customers credit card information is compromised, you may be liable for damages. PCI compliance ensures that you take reasonable measures to prevent loss and shows that you take your customers personal information security seriously.

Design - Perhaps you are not quite ready to take the plunge into a new website but are looking for a Business or Homestead logo to put on some letterhead or business cards. I can work with you to create the perfect logo for your business! We also have a Viynl cutter which allows us to turn your logo into a decal/sticker for your car or truck or even the front window of your office.
